The deadline is fast approaching on an opportunity for consumers to give their kitchen and bath a fresh, $25,000 makeover of new appliances and improvements.

American Home Shield, a leading national provider of home service plans, will award one lucky consumer a $25,000 Lowe’s® gift card to assist in remodeling in its “Make a Splash” sweepstakes, which closes on August 31. The giveaway is part of the Live Green Save Green℠ campaign launched by AHS to raise awareness about making more environmentally conscious choices in the home.

“Energy efficiency is a very important topic among consumers, yet, in the current economic climate, not everyone can afford to make the necessary adjustments,” says Mike Vazeii, director of marketing for AHS. “This sweepstakes can help one lucky consumer renovate his or her kitchen and bath. And because some updated appliances can help consumers reduce their water and energy consumption, the prize winner has the potential to reap additional rewards – such as lower utility costs – well into the future.”

To enter the sweepstakes, visit or and click on the “sweepstakes” tab; limit one entry per person per day. Sweepstakes entrants will receive a complimentary download of the American Home Shield Live Green Save Green℠ Homeowner Guide, a 20-page booklet on home energy conservation and efficiency. The entry period for the sweepstakes closes at 11;59 pm on August 31, 2010, and a winner will be selected on or about September 15, 2010.
