American Home Shield Announces Top Quality Contractors

First place awards $25,000 bonus for delivering top-quality service to customers

American Home Shield, the nation’s leading provider of home protection plans, today announced the top recipients of its fourth annual Contractor Quality Bonus Program. Based on feedback from customers about service experience for the year 2013, the company will present $25,000 and $20,000 bonuses to the top two service contractors in each of the following six trade categories: appliance, electrical, garage door, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, and pool and spa.

“We have more than 10,000 pre-screened professional contractors in our network, making it among the largest in the nation. We rate service contractors’ performance on more than a dozen metrics, including customer feedback,” said Dave Quandt, vice president of field services for American Home Shield, a business unit of The ServiceMaster Company, LLC, one of the world's largest residential and commercial service networks.

The top six 2013 Quality Bonus recipients with the highest scores include:

  • Appliance: Brumbach Appliance Service (Stratford, N.J.)
  • Electric: Quality Electrical Contractors (Oxford, Conn.)
  • Garage Door: J.B. Mathews Company (Apoka, Fla.)
  • HVAC: Airpro Service Company (Jacksonville, Fla.)
  • Plumbing: Premium One Plumbing (Glendale, Calif.)
  • Pool and Spa: Expert Pools (Frisco, Texas)

The service contractors with the second highest scores for the year 2013 include:

  • Appliance: Martin’s Appliance Repair (Cedar Hill, Tenn.)
  • Electric: Ross Electrical Contracting (Smithfield, Va.)
  • Garage Door: Pride Mechanical (Canton, Texas)
  • HVAC: Barnett Air Conditioning (Mansfield, Texas)
  • Plumbing: Dave & Sons Plumbing (Upper Marlboro, Md.)
  • Pool and Spa: Serene Pools (Plano, Texas)

“American Home Shield service contractors respond to nearly 3 million service requests each year,” said Quandt. “Every day our service contractors deliver quality service to thousands of homeowners across the country on our behalf, and we’re proud to recognize those who are providing a best-in-class experience.”

In addition, more than 100 service contractors also earned quality bonuses ranging from $1,500 to $15,000. The company’s home protection plans provide homeowners with repair and replacement services should covered appliances and system components break down.
