American Home Shield announces plans to expand sales team

Growth fueled by boost in U.S. real estate market

August 8, 2013 6:00 PM EDT

American Home Shield, the nation’s largest home warranty company, today announced it plans to significantly expand its real estate field sales team by the end of the year.

The growth is being fueled by steady gains in the nation’s real estate market, and company officials say more sales representatives are needed to support the increased number of home sales taking place.

“As the industry leader, our real estate sales team works with over 200,000 brokers across the country, providing trusted solutions for their client’s home repair needs,” said Lelia Chapman, vice president of field sales for American Home Shield, which is a subsidiary of The ServiceMaster Company, one of the nation’s largest residential service networks.

“Our home warranties provide tremendous value to today’s home buyers and sellers alike,” Chapman added. “We offer some of the most comprehensive coverage in the market, we have the largest network of independent service contractors, and over the past five years, we’ve proudly spent more than $1.6 billion resolving our customers’ repair needs. Our business is growing strong, and with this expansion, even more real estate professionals will be equipped to deliver to their clients the unique value that American Home Shield offers.”

Applicants should demonstrate a passion for sales and building strong client relationships, be highly motivated, with excellent communication and organizational skills. American Home Shield offers members of its real estate field sales a competitive benefits package, including medical and life insurance benefits, paid vacation and 401(k) options. Interviews will begin later this month.
