American Home Shield Again Names Technician Today of Omaha Top Appliance Contractor

May 8, 2013 6:00 PM EDT

Technician Today of Omaha, Neb., has been named the 2012 top-performing appliance contractor for American Home Shield, earning a $20,000 bonus from the nation’s leading provider of home protection plans.

Technician Today was also recognized as the 2011 top-performing contractor and has answered the appliance needs of residents and businesses in Omaha and the surrounding areas since 2000.

With a national network of more than 10,000 independent contractors, the American Home Shield program rates and rewards contractors according to customer feedback.

“Our contractors understand the importance of delivering quality service to our customers every day, and we are proud to recognize Technician Today for providing a best-in-class experience to our customers two years in a row,” said Mark Barry, president of American Home Shield. The company relies on its contractor network to diagnose and repair covered system and appliance problems for its more than 1.3 million customers across the nation.

“Our customers in the Omaha area consistently told us they would recommend Technician Today, which is an incredible testimony to the work and service they provide,” said Barry. “This bonus is our way of recognizing and rewarding the quality service Technician Today provides our customers every day.”

According to owner Brian Mathews, the company earned such high regards by doing the right thing for customers all the time.

“I believe the customer deserves the very best,” said Mathews. “We go into the customer home and think of it as our own home and family. We walk every customer through the whole process and don’t leave the home until I know they are comfortable and understand what we did and the next steps.”

In all, six contractors from across the country each earned a $20,000 bonus from American Home Shield, one from each of the following trade categories: heating and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, garage door, pool and spa and appliance. In addition, six contractors from the same trades earned a $15,000 bonus for having the second highest scores. And 164 contractors earned quality bonuses ranging from $1,500 - $15,000.
